A fire destroyed a house in Norwood Young America on Thursday, Oct. 2.
According to the Carver County Sheriff’s Office, at approximately 10:37 a.m. on Oct. 2, deputies responded to a report of a residential structure fire at 118 Casper St. in Norwood Young America. When the first deputy arrived, he immediately noticed flames coming through the roof and side of the residence.
The Norwood Young America Fire Department extinguished the fire with the assistance of Hamburg, Plato and Mayer Fire Departments. Ridgeview Ambulance also responded. The house was unoccupied and there were no injuries. The structure is a total loss. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Preliminary information suggests this was an unintentional incident.
